Let’s be real for a second. In the lab, pure Glycerin is… kind of gross. It’s thick, it’s syrupy, and if you spill it on the floor (which we definitely haven’t done, Mum, I promise), it stays sticky for three to five business days.
It is the unsexiest ingredient on the shelf. It doesn’t have a cool botanical backstory. It wasn’t harvested by moonlight on a mountain.
But we put it in almost everything water-based. Why?
Because Glycerin is a humectant. In plain English? It’s a moisture magnet with separation anxiety. It grabs onto water molecules and refuses to let go.
Think of your skin cells like a bunch of grapes. When they’re dehydrated, they look like sultanas.
Glycerin is the friend who shows up with a water bottle and forces you to drink. It sits in the outer layers of your skin and pulls moisture from the air (which, let’s be honest, in a Queensland summer is basically swimming anyway) and locks it onto your face.
The Result: Your skin looks plump and bouncy, rather than sad and thirsty.

We get asked a lot why ingredients go where they go. Let’s look at the Watermelon Range as a live example:
The Cleansing Balm:
NO Glycerin. Why?
Because this is an oil party. It’s designed to melt makeup. Glycerin would just be an awkward third wheel here.
The Face Mist:
LOADED with Glycerin.
This is the hydration station. When you spritz, the Glycerin grabs the Aloe and Chamomile water and staples it to your face.

The Moisturiser:
ALSO has Glycerin.
It acts as the backup singer to the Sunflower Oil, keeping the hydration humming along all day.
Look, is it affordable? Yes.
Is water affordable? Yes.
Do you still need both to survive? Also yes.
We don’t use it because it’s cheap. We use it because it is the Gold Standard. You can buy a $400 cream made of crushed diamonds and tears, and I guarantee you the second ingredient is probably Glycerin.
The biggest complaint about Glycerin is the “tackiness.” If you feel sticky, you’re doing it wrong (or the formula is bad).
The Rule: Never apply high-Glycerin products to bone-dry skin. If the air is dry and your skin is dry, Glycerin has nothing to grab onto, so it sits on top feeling like jam.
The Fix: Always apply your Watermelon Moisturiser while your skin is still damp from the Mist. Give the Glycerin some water to hold onto, and it will sink right in.
TGA Compliance Note: Glycerin improves the appearance of hydration. It does not cure a bad personality, but it will make your face look very soft while you have one.
We believe in skincare that is factual, effective, and kind. No mass manufacturing, just honest ingredients blended by hand to help you feel confident in your own skin.
